It was brought to their attention and they think the IT guys got it fixed, anyone with a fixed bookmark would not have noticed it, but a google search would cause the redirect. They think it was a corrupt plugin on the board's software.

Re: Problem logging on yesterday
I clicked my link late Fri. night, and it was trying to load but wouldn't, so I left it and went to something else. Came back later and it was loaded but looked totally different, a format I had never seen. Went ahead and read the new posts and all worked all right. Now back to normal for me.

Re: Chinese bits bite seal killer
Any chance the problem was in the material, and not the drills? Some steel can have inclusions of much harder material that can wreck a drill.

Re: Successful electrolytic derusting project!
Instead of scrap steel I use carbon rods (lots of them), either arc gouging or arc brazing, with the copper stripped apart from an inch to solder to (I'm too cheap to buy terminals). Ferric Chloride PCB etch works well for that. I'm am just trying to understand what you are using for carbon rods. T...

Can't help with your problem, but have to admit when I read your thread title, I thought, is he trying to buy one, or has he got another option.

Re: Old machine manuals
That is a nice gesture. There is also a manual section over on the metal illness site, it hardly ever see any activity and I don't know how long Adrian will maintain it. You might look there to see if there are any you would like to host.

Re: Big blow, twisters and winds in Arizona.
I am going to have to stand with those who say yes, we have climate change, always have, one direction or the other. Is mankind contributing to it in any significant way, I think it borders on being arrogant for us to believe that. As far as our recording of temps long enough to prove anything, the ...

Re: Thermite Welding
Never heard of protecting steel pipe this way. Its a good example of ignorance from somebody who should know better. I've mentioned in other posts that I have a ski mountain with several miles of steel snowmaking pipe, all of which is corroding. I've always blamed it on iron oxide that is native to...

Re: Thermite Welding
I have also used a Cadwelder quite a bit, welding magnesium anodes, and test leads to crude oil pipelines. Also took care of 17 impressed current rectifiers that protected several hundred miles of pipeline. Had no formal education in the subject, but learned quite a bit about it the hard way.

Re: Someone gave me a Leek
In my experience if you get a direct ground with a pipe with a cathodic protection system on it, it will also protect your pipe, however if you are close to their system and the impressed current can get to your pipe ( being bare or having a spot missing in the coating) it will find another spot to ...

I would vote for selling it, use a small amount of the proceeds to buy an old junk engine block from a VW Beetle if you want a bright bonfire.

Re: question on splined shaft
Best way I know to get 'em loose, is with and air hammer and an appropriately sized pickle fork. I've had some where the pickle fork got jammed in there, and the arm still didn't come loose, but a smack with a hammer, to the side of the spline on the arm, and sometimes with a backup hammer, will us...
