Webb—

I’m not sure it does fit into spectroscopy. I may have mistaken Steve’s comment to mean spectroscopy when that was not the case.

Re: LED Shop Lighting

Steve--
If you heat titanium and iron to the same temperature, they will look the same.
If two dissimilar metals are heated to the same temperature, they will produce different spectra. (I think you may have meant that, but worded it wrong.)

Re: LED Shop Lighting

All-- I cannot find LED tube lighting fixtures--those that come with the LED tubes permanently mounted--without a pigtail and 110v male plug. That means I would have to install a 110v outlet for each 8' fixture. I have an electrician friend that did exactly that. But, not being able to easily daisy ...

Re: OT: Building in isolated location

All-- The lower level is completely painted and touched up. All electrical work is finished (on that level). The next project will be the installation of some of the wood flooring that I recently hauled to the property. I rented a box truck and hauled it down myself because it was IMPOSSIBLE to find...

Re: LED Shop Lighting

RN-- "We" have seen the setup at HD, but have not played with it, yet. Thank you for reminding "us." I imagine I will receive instructions to check it out soon from SWMBO. Of course, anything I determine about what looks the best will not be the thing that actually, really looks the best. And, in fa...

IF they last that long!

I'm thinking I'll see if they have a cooler product, something like 5000k or more.

Re: LED Shop Lighting

All--

Here is a government (US DOE) website that allows one to select and compare from a database of 71,957 products. I'm playing with it, but don't know what to compare my light with. :(

Take a look if you are interested and tell me what you think.

Re: LED Shop Lighting

Bill and Pete and All--

I took a closer look at the test tube I bought. Here are some specs, one of which might be useful in comparison to other products; lumens per watt: 91.1.
