Re: silver soldering steel to steel

Hi Thanks for the tips, I had not thought of citric acid, I will try that as I do not want to destroy the finish on the rods. I have rarely done steel silver brazing and had Sparax 1 at the time. I will see about picking up some of those bricks and get rid of my heavy firebricks. As for the drill ro...

Re: silver soldering steel to steel

Hi I was reading this over as I am about to silver braze a steel two throw crank, ie 4 webs, for a model engine. The webs are hot rolled and the shaft and throw rod are drill rod. I did an experiment run using Harris black and some non cad braze. Came out fine but I have two questions In the past I ...

Re: Is MSC Totally Useless?

Bill

That is what I mean it is confusing, you get the $410 price automatically, I only get
it if I enter the jun35 code. That implies you get the "35%" all the time??

Oh well, I usually check around take the best I can get.

I am registered and logged in. I went to the MSC site and get this back:
msc1.JPG

If I enter a promo code then I get :
msc2.JPG
It appears you get a better price with no Promo code.

I need to find out how to get that .

Re: Eccentric Engineer Announcement - Small Scale Injectors in stock!

Harold I have not had trouble pasting before. As you can see it worked fine today. All I do is copy it from the link in the browser, and paste. Yesterday was just the magic gremlins at work. I pasted that same link in a PM about a week ago. https://timesavers.com/i-24050835-10-pack-italian-pegwood-2...

Re: Eccentric Engineer Announcement - Small Scale Injectors in stock!

DianneB I have been using injectors as the primary water supply source since I came into this hobby in the late 70's. I have had them on 3/4, 1 1/2, a 14", 1/4 scale traction engine and am now installing one of these on a 2" scale Case. Here is my recipe for success. The feed line from the dome need...

I just put my order in, thanks for pushing this to completion. I am looking forward to trying them out. As soon as your page is up with spares, please post that info also.

Re: Injector steam out

If possible keep the feed water input at the higher value. If you can do the steam input at the 5/16 that would be better also.

Hi
Another good source for parts that I have used interchangeably in several non working injectors is Howard Gorin.

Re: Sievert Torches

Hi I have never done a boiler with the torch but a lot of other silver brazing. The torch I have is an older model of the current pro 88. I would recommend you get that torch. I have smaller tips 3940,3941 for most work, also the cyclone type, both sizes. My largest tip is a 2943. I have two necks o...
