Re: USA Trip from San Francisco to Las Vegas
Second the suggestion to spend some time in Chama, esp if you have interest in 3’ gauge railways. Nearby Pagaso Springs is a very nice place to stay for the night. 2.5” scale supplier PLE is (was? haven’t seen him for a few years) nearby Pagaso if interested, and Tom’s a goldmine of info. Hope you h...

Re: mosley turbo
A couple of club mates have operating 3/4” scale turbos. Finicky, but can be done. One of them has over 20 years of use.

Re: Ulin Locmotive k-27
Nice start! I notice previous constructor was using the Ulin die spring idea instead of leaf springs. Easy to modify. According to Richard it saved him a bunch of time on his commission work. Sorry, no clue about Accucraft. You may want to look at Kozo’s counterweight design. Richard’s was overbalan...

Re: Ulin Locmotive k-27
Richard Ulin offered drawings that are better termed sketches. As I recall his story, he was in a hurry to make a K-27 on commission to a west coast live steamer so didn’t make detailed drawings. His lost wax castings otoh, were very nice. What stage is your project at? Pictures? Marty Knox has made...

Re: 20 and 30lb horizontial propane tanks - good deal
Chris, your comment about re-certing an argon tank got me wondering. Assume you own the tank- what size are you allowed to own and get refilled in BC? Frustrated with 55 cu/ft tanks east of you.

Re: Three inch per foot Case Traction Engine.
Just found the lLive Steam volume in my basement: started July 1973. Spent some time with Ralph in his surprisingly small garage shop in Duluth about 30 years ago. He was late in his incredible 1.6” scale DMIR Yellowstone 2-8-8-4 project. He had one of his 4” Case engines in his clear acrylic top tr...

Re: Three inch per foot Case Traction Engine.
Ralph Andres design that started in Live Steam magazine in 1973 was a 4” scale 65 hp Case.
