Re: Some live steam material I bought at a local auction

Here is a photo of the 999 built by Fred Bohn in Niagara Falls NY. It's 7 1/4" gauge and is coal fired. A few years back she received a full cosmetic restoration.

Re: Building a 1" scale industrial switcher

I finished my 1" electric in 2011 and its been running great ever since. I use 2 12 volt batteries from the Fisherprice powerwheels. They hold a charge for a whole weekend of running and the motor has plenty of power. It also will go as fast or slow as I want. The only issue I've encountered wi...

Re: 1" Scale LE 0-4-0T

The tanks used to be the main water source however they really complicated the plumbing on the loco. I simplified the plumbing by making them cosmetic. I have an injector for it but never installed it. The electric pump is a no hassle means of water supply. I also took out the axle pump. With the el...

Re: 1" Scale LE 0-4-0T

The last time I ran the 0-4-0 at FLLS was at the spring meet in June 13. It runs good on the FLLS track and its spent all of its life there. The only grade that can be tricky is the last grade coming back into the yard. Just have to have a good head of steam and a decent speed to make it up with no ...

Re: Little Engines or Coles

Steve - Yes Ed McConnell built my engine. I believe I am the 5th owner from the FLLS club. The first think Ed told me when I completed the rebuild was that I painted it the wrong color. I just told him to think of it as a really really dark green.

Re: Little Engines or Coles

I purchased a Little Engines 1" 0-4-0 tank engine a couple years ago and I love it. Originally finished in 1978 it was in need of some TLC. It had a leaky copper boiler and pretty much needed a complete rebuild. I fixed the boiler and did the complete rebuild including new valve gear bushings, ...

1" Pacemaker Box Car

I thought I'd share some pictures of my recently completed NYC Pacemaker Box Car in 1" scale. I scratch built the car using masonite. It still needs some details here and there. Next I would like to build a matching caboose.

1" scale 0-6-0 chassis running on air

1" 0-6-0 4 3/4" gauge chassis running on air. Chassis has piston valves and an axle pump. I bought it with plans to finish but have too many other projects. Includes a pilot truck to build as a 2-6-0. The builder of this chassis is unknown and its not built with little engines castings. I ...
