I bought one off ebay. It is an 8 inch caliper.

Re: Carbide endmills in a Endmill HOLDER

Or will the set screw cause the shank to crack/fracture? Not in a Weldon holder. When you tighten the end mill in a Weldon holder you are pushing against the holder of the same shape as the side of the end mill. We have problems with guys tightening carbide boring bars in the lathe in a CA size hol...

Re: American Bosch BA 33

If I remember correctly, I think that I have a bosch magneto? I will go look right now. Yes, I have a Bosch American MJB4A-102. Its a base mount for a 4 cylinder. I think it came off an old gas Caterpillar. I don't know much about them. I have 4 Wico mags and a 6 cylinder Eisemann. I thought that I ...

Re: A vise question

I assume that they are keys to line up the vise with the table slots. They should screw into the keyway on the underside of the vise.

Re: Boring for Chuck Jaws?

It would have been a different story though, if it was bigger with a 5 HP motor on it. Richard W. I dunno! More power would just lead to more heat near as I can tell. Am I missing something? H You are not really missing much for sure. My limited experience is that those little 1/3 HP grinder stall ...

Re: Boring for Chuck Jaws?

I bore my hard jaws using Kyocera cermet PV720 inserts. I usually end up with .0005" run out on newer chucks. A lot depends on the condition of your lathe to bore straight, as well the condition of your chuck. I don't care to much for compound grinders. I use cermet inserts to routinely turn dr...

Re: I may have found my problem...

I prefer end mill holder over collets for using end mills. They are more rigid in holding end mills and have a set screw to keep the cutter from pulling out under heavy cuts. Both end mill holder and collets have their place in the shop for the mill. https://www.ebay.com/itm/155490784457?hash=item24...
