I sent to Geof and Dick links to the files by PM. Let me know if not successful.

Re: Nelsons Locomotive Works

And keep them local. I have two external HDs for each computer and they alternate weekly, the off-duty ones being kept in my detached shop. Thus if there is a fire or theft all I've lost is at most one week's worth. Some years ago there was an online service for professional photographers where the...

Re: Nelsons Locomotive Works

I'm late to this discussion. Sorry. I don't get to chaski every day anymore. I have all the Nelson compressor files, saved from the title page as HTML 10-12 years ago. That's something that was easy to do then and I saved a lot of stuff, knowing that it could disappear anytime. Anticipating someone ...

Re: Chlorine injection to well system

I will be placing this unit post my softener to perhaps causing a less frequent cleaning cycle to the pre filter for the metering injector. Curtis, am I reading your response wrong? Are you placing the unit before the softener (towards the well) or after (towards the house)? It needs to be between ...

Re: (OT) Chlorine injection to well system

Not knowing what your reasons are for needing chlorine, I will describe my setup, which solved my iron problem completely. I have a chlorine pellet injector installed for about 10 years now, a B&B unit, placed on top of the well head where it drops pellets directly into the well. The chlorine in...

Re: Oil dispenser recommendation

Selectric service. Wow! I have two, both now over 55 years old, compliments of IBM. Both are still in use, one with tapping fluid for tiny amounts dispensed to the work. No leaks, no fuss, no muss.

There are some good videos out there regarding identifying counterfeit Mitutoyo calipers. Quick search will turn them up!

Re: Brake Valve Survey.

Jack, As I and others have remarked, it would be nice to have some measurements. In my case, when I get far enough on my tender I need to get back to the locomotive, and the next project there is laying out the equipment inside the cab that will be operated by air from a manifold below or steam from...

Re: Brake Valve Survey.

Jack,

I will take one of each for my P7, the S6 and H6, in 1-1/2" scale.

Lots of information from the good people on this forum and just a bit of research on my part made this an easy one! I would also like to know the general size of these 1-1/2" valves for planning and layout purposes.

Re: Brake Valve Survey.

I would be interested in one in 1.5" for my B&O P7, but don't yet know which, since I haven't arrived at finishing up the braking so haven't had a need to figure it out yet. If necessary I will get on it soon and determine which one I need...

Or do I need one of each to get it all right??

Re: 3/4-inch scale B&O P7d Cincinnatian

I took a look at my P7 35A tender water scoop proto blueprints. Some additional information about all this, FWIW. The water scoop was operated by an 11" or so diameter air-actuated cylinder, mounted to a liner attached to the wood flooring under the tender. It was single action, actuated on one...

Re: 3/4-inch scale B&O P7d Cincinnatian

scoops from what I have seen, ran water up and over, down in to the tank....so they were 'open air' at the top... they did not connect water flow directly into the bottom. Bill is correct about how the P7 water scoop operated. Here's a clip from the proto blueprint: image_2023-06-21_125554630.png T...
