Need info from old Coles Power Models catalog

If anyone has an old Coles Power Models catalog handy, can you look up something for me? I just moved and mine is packed someplace. I am looking for the dimensions of a marine center flue boiler they used to sell for model steam boats. I want to say the diameter was something like 5 or 6 inches and ...

1 1/2 scale Cagney type locomotive

I know there is a company making new 15in gauge copies of the Cagney amusement park locomotive but many years ago I thought I remember a company in Texas was going to produce an 1 1/2 scale 7 1/2 gauge version of the Cagney. Does anyone else remember this engine? Would love to know if any were actua...

Re: Model Steam Pressure Gauges

I have always been told your gauge should be about double your working pressure. Don't most models run about 100-125 PSI? So a 200-250 PSI gauge would be ideal.
Am I off base on this?

Bob Canavan’s 2-4-0

In the June 86 issue of Modeltec there was an article about a little 2-4-0 designed by a member of the Montreal Live Steamers named Bob Canavan. I wondered whatever happened to that engine. In the article it said several were being built but I wonder if any were ever finished. Does anyone know anyth...

East Coast Locomotive Works

I seem to remember a long time ago a company that sold castings for a Pacific 4-6-2 I believe.

I thought the name of the company was East Coast Locomotive Works.

Does anyone remember this company and known what happened to them or the patterns for the engine?

Just curious.
Thanks

Re: I'm just an operator

As neither and operator or a machinist I am constantly amazed at the works of art produced by both manual and CNC machines. I believe there is a great deal of skill in both and most of it overlaps. I don’t think you can successfully produce parts with CNC unless you know how they would be made the o...
