Re: 5" cast spoked wheels without counterweights?

Hi Mike, RMI has 5.75 inch machined wheels in cast steel, or has 6" un-machined or machined in ductile iron. I believe they use them for pony truck wheels on their steamers. http://www.rmirailworks.com/mi-WHL-257-5-75-inch-spoked-flat-backed-wheel.asp Here is their wheel page. http://www.rmirai...

Re: 3 3/4" scale gladhands

Do you have a 3 3/4" valve for the other end of the hose so you can shut off the line when it is open?

Re: Water Treatment Targets and Method

At SCLS we use a small water softener which we recharge with a can of table salt before each run. The hardness of our water is over 58 GPG and the softener brings it down to less than 2 GPG. We recharge if it goes above 4 GPG but it pretty much lasts for a run and a half with some larger locomotives...

Re: WTB: 1" scale rail and track supplies

Real Trains, track inventory and narrow gauge inventory was purchased by RMI Railworks, they may have what you are looking for. http://www.rmirailworks.com. The Real Trains inventory is not on their web site yet but give them a call. The smaller scale stuff including locomotives were purchased by Ho...

Re: Between-car eelctrical connections, redux

You can saw off the locking ring on the connector, there should be enough tension to keep the connection in place without it, that way if it gets tugged it will just pull out of the bulkhead connector instead of tearing it apart. I used to use them like this all the time on test equipment. You still...

Re: GG1 in large scale?

Seems like it is pretty rare for being such a popular, long lived and famous locomotive. Wonder if there would be a market for one if it was done right. I think it would be about 10 feet long in 1.5" scale. A large beast.

GG1 in large scale?

Does anyone know of a company that has produced a GG1 locomotive in 7.5"/7.25" gauge for the live steam hobby? Have always loved this locomotive and was just curious as I have never seen one modeled before.
