Re: steam lines to cylinders

I have cut strips of sheet metal and wired them onto the copper tubes. I can't imagine trying to bend SS tube to fit in there.

Re: injector tubing

I helped a friend get an LS brand Chicago injector working. The problem ended up being thick wall brass tubing on the delivery side. We changed to copper and it started working. Superscale may be different.

Re: How to size an Injector?

I have a water consumption calculator spread sheet. you can plug in your engine size and wheel dia and it will calculate water needed. PM me with email address and I'll send it to you.

Re: Rapid Syeam Pressure Loss

I have read here that with propane you can extend the exhaust all the way to the top of the stack. You need no draft. How much draft do you have sitting still where you have the highest temperature of gas flow? You want that same thing to happen when pulling a load.

Re: Blower

Re: Hackworth valve gear question

Ben, I suggest you use Tapered Pins in place of the roll pins shown in the plans, to fasten the shaft to the slide boxes. I used the roll pins and detected some twisting moments in the blocks when I ran my engine on air. the Allen Chloe calls for 1/16" dia pins to hole the crossover lever on it's s...

Re: Hackworth valve gear question

on my SW I used rubber blocks instead of springs on the rear axle boxes. This kept the valve timing correct at the expense of the engine rocking sideways a bit on rough track. It was not a problem though.
