Re: Mill tooling

Thank you all for your "tight enough" answers. Kinda what I figured, experience and judgment.

Re: Mill tooling

OK Harold, just what does "tight enough" mean? Torque it reasonably or give it all you've got?

Re: Slide Valve Cylinder Castings

super7b,

Could you please define a "slot drill". I have seen that term for the last 10 years but have never seen it defined. It's driving me nuts!!

Same thing with a black locomotive. Put a little white in the black paint and it lightens it up little bit. It's still black but detail in the shadows can be seen better.

Jack, you've made the parts for this bell in 3/4" scale. So does shrinkage change anything when they are used as patterns for investment casting?

Look at your medical and surgical supplies such as dressings, gauze, tape and such. All made in China. If we had an all out war such as WWII the women would have to start tearing up their petie coats again.

Or do they not wear this things anymore?

Re: Mercer Safety Valves

I have ordered multiple things from him also and never had a problem. He owes me a pair of trucks but it looks like he has a few fires to put out first. I'm not worried. They will be pretty when they get here, the anticipation is at least half the fun.

Keep after those fires Dave !!
