Pix of EMCO 5 spindle at lathes.com: http://www.lathes.co.uk/emco/page3.html
Seems like it would not be hard to duplicate the bolt pattern on a back plate.

Re: Need Drawbar or Print for EMCO Maximat Compact
Drawbar threading is determined by the threads on the collet, milling bit holders and drill chuck holders you have. As noted this may be English or metric threads. A length of all thread with washers and a wingnut may be all that is needed, especially if your collets etc turn out to have different t...

Re: Want a better machine for drilling large holes
Before spending a lot on a new larger machine, consider trying an annular cutter for your 3/4" holes. Drills are not that expensive cut with less HP needed and tend to be a bit more accurate. High quality hole saw is another option. A bit of research will be needed if all you have is a drill ch...

Re: Need A Little Help With Drill I.D.
Counter bores are generally shorter, designed to sink a SHCS head below or at surface level. The narrow part fits in the hole to be threaded as a pilot (or drills the shank hole) and the larger part makes a slightly oversized hole for the SHCS head. The OP drills look like aluminum helixed pilot poi...

Re: Cheap Alternative to $157 McMaster Lead Screw for Lathe?
For one thing they are stainless steel and high precision threading. The multi-start screws really move things fast, one turn of the screw moves the nut 1/2". You are really going to need some precision controlling to get much accuracy out of that fast a movement. The nuts are really expensive ...

If you are concerned about "2004" tech, you should avoid the controllers that rely on parallel port connection to the computer
and look at USB connected controllers.

NO experience but you might look at Muggy weld rods as a hole filler. Not cheap but designed to work with cast iron. One concern with a larger table
such as yours would be warpage from local heating.

Re: D & M cnc lathe???
The machine is a teaching tool from the 1980's and hence the electronics and software are of the same era and as useful as a 8088 machine. They were sold to high and tech schools when CNC was new and fascinating but the vast majority had little if any use, maybe turning out trinkets for the students...

Re: Right Tool for Cutting Old Tires?
In my area, "alligators" are easy to find on the Interstate, usually truck tire retreads that come apart. Then you only have to deal with the tread. When I cut a 1" thick 36" square rubber pad up into 3" wide strips for resilient mounts for my generator, I tried jig saw, rot...

Re: lifting eye bolt safety
Mcmaster has quality, US made and rated eyebolts and slings. http://www.mcmaster.com/#general-purpose-eyebolts/=os3isn Enco also sells US made slings for somewhat less than Mcmaster, especially in their monthly flyers, or with the 10-25% off coupons released periodically. I would not rely on Enco fo...
