So the saga continues! Made a little mistakes and cut extractor grove 90* out so my next question is is it exceptable to cut a second one in proper location or did I trash the barrel don't want to cut barrel down as it is a light barrel and there is not much there to begin with any and all suggestio...

Well figured out the problem. The receiver is a p14 and the parts bag is for a m1917

Ok starting on next project I picked up a p14 action from a supplier in pa. it arrived with barrel and receiver and everything else was in plastic bag. which is fine but when going thru pieces and assembling to make sure what I had and didn't have I am having trouble getting bottom metal installed. ...

Is there a set of drill bits of reasonable quality that are not in the $800 precision twist drill set range? or is this something most people build one by one over time of breaking cheap frustrating brittle flexing walking no edge holding pieces of $%^#

Well I finally broke down and bought a copy of the book for my next project. For now I am thinking of chambering in 30-40 krag. Is there anybody out there that has completed one of these? got pictures? Is there anything I should be aware of in the design?

When annealing you heat, hold temperature than cool slow. DO NOT QUENCH!! Depending on size of piece you are trying to anneal determines how long you hold temperature to make sure it heats all the way thru and not just the surface. Campfires always work good throw the piece in as it lays in the fire...

Mauser Bolt Face
I was truing up the bolt face on a Mauser action and found it to be extremely hard. So hard that the carbide cutter wouldn't touch it. So I thought I would ask if anyone else has run into this or if this should be a concern as the last couple I have done I had no problem cutting.

sorry I was wondering what the length difference between the two are? is there a given distance on all or does it differ per cartridge?
