Re: Which steam pump would you build?

It seems that I cannot explain what I mean to you...
Is there anyone else who knows a case as questioned above?

Re: Which steam pump would you build?

I do not undersstand... What I mean is that neither the steam piston actuates a valve piston mechanically, nor the piston rod (is this what you call connecting rod?).
This has nothing to do with a connection between the steam piston and the water pump piston.

Re: Which steam pump would you build?

If I get you right, your question is related to my question? I only mean "no mechanical contact between valve piston(s) and steam piston" and "no mechanical contact between valve piston and piston rod". So many known steam pump valve systems would be excluded, especially also duplex pumps. I would l...

Re: Which steam pump would you build?

Just a question in between: Is there anybody (I mean any forum user) who has developed and /or built a steam pump without mechanical contact between valve piston(s) and steam piston set?

Re: Power Reverser questions

I do not know if I remember exactly, but I have the idea that there are two cylinders facing each other, one cylinder that drives the movement and one that slows down and stops it. It is possible that one cylinder is operated by steam and one is filled with water or perhaps oil? It seems to me that ...

Hello again, here some video of another challenging steam-tec theme: http://steamtec.lima-city.de/kesselspeisepumpe/video/ The text at the end of the video is "Bei den Tests wurde aus verschiedenen Gründen eine Vorwärmer-Bauform mit besonders langer Wassersäule im Innern gewählt. Ohne Windkessel res...

Re: Walschaerts - All Square Layout Design

Do you have a CAD program that can read AutoCAD 12 DXF files? I take back my question as my holidays are over now. I had thought about letting the program calculate the valve gear dimensions for you. But without knowing if you can take a look at the results that are exported in AutoCAD 12 DXF forma...

Re: How to start Walschaerts Design as a beginner?

10% of the boiler pressure would result as a needed value if the piston and everything concerning the weight is scaled down exactly - and if some other effects like steam expansion, environment pressure etc. were scalable. If the boiler dimensions are scaled down exactly and the different behaviour ...
