Thanks for the info guys. In the meantime, my son has gotten off his rear and contacted the group that has the locomotive now (WCRA?) and they claim to have the drawings. Not ready to start yet anyway, just doing the research.

Rebuilding aluminum frogs
Has anyone tried to weld or build up an aluminum frog? I have many where the running surfaces are badly worn and it seems like some sort of rework would be better than replacement. I don't have a TIG welder so I would like to learn about other alternatives you've used.

Amunium coupler knuckles break much more easily than bronze or cast iron/steel....
