I have a Reading A5a Camelback. I have a steam pump, a steam injector and an axle pump. The steam injector is fussy at best and the pump works fine unless the operator loses pressure and the water level is questionable. The axle pump was disconnected some time ago by a helpful individual, although I...

Since the thread has bounced all over, allow me to opine, the straddled passengers add stability to the train. Much like a tight-rope walker carries a drooping bar while performing, the lowered center of mass actually keeps the load centered and in line. As for speed, I have a difficult time running...

Haven't heard of one, but I do love the "odd ball" models people build and show off. There's something very nice about keeping the design in operation. Pennsy had a slug of steam and electric designs that they never preserved. That would be a collection to see!
