Pair 24 volt wheelchair motors for sale and discussion.
I have two 24 volt wheelchair motors for sale. Both are used but run. Before considering whether these are right for you, and they may be, I want to discuss them before the group. Don't worry about offending me! People offend me everyday! The motors are attached to a gear mechanism using machine scr...

"So you want to build a live steam locomotive" for sale *** SOLD ***
I have a copy of "So you want to build a live steam locomotive" , by Joseph Foster Nelson with which I am ready to part. This is Wildwood Press, dated 1974. The book cover is worn, but the book itself is pristine. For those unfamiliar with the book, there are detail explanations of each pa...

Re: coal size
I drove to Pennsylvania from Maine last September and could not find what I was looking for, which was Pocohontas vein nut size coal. I finally got some advice from live steamers in New Jersey, and located a private coal yard where I picked up 5 bags of nut coal, supposedly pretty good stuff with li...

Direct drive electric motor to geared axle ?
I'm looking for a vendor who sells truck mounted electric motors which drive a geared axle. The motors I was going to use are far too wide in diameter and will likely hit the rail heads on switches, crossovers, etc.
Any recommendations for a 1/8th scale four axle Diesel?

Re: Ebay locomotive
From the look of the images, it's the 4-4-2 that is up for bid. There is a 4-6-2 next to it, but I don't catch any information indicating it too is for sale. The seller apparently doesn't know an Atlantic versus a Pacific in wheel arrangements. The Atlantic has seen a great deal of brass polish as w...

Re: Injectors: History, Theory & Application
I have just installed one of the EE intermediate injectors on my Reading A5a. I need to tweak it for perfect service, but I am delighted to have one of the best of the best at hand. Keep 'em coming, Anthony!
