SOLD. Two Ohlemkamp Injectors for sale!! SOLD

All internal parts are present: steam cone, suction cone, delivery cone, overflow check. Tail pieces still have piping soldered in. Both dated 1.82 These were removed from an Atlantic I recently purchased that was finished in 1983, but was not run for the last 25 years. The engine itself has very li...

Hood sides cut and sanded to shape using a paper template.

Hood tops bent using a slip roller and various diameter pipes to achieve the correct compound contour. Then cut to proper length.

Re: 1" Baldwin-Westinghouse Class D....Sacramento Northern

Mr. Ron....Thank you for the compliment. I'm not using autocad, just hand drawing my own blueprints and of course making corrections as I go. These will be 24VDC and either a SyRen or 4QD control system and will also be R/C. My plan is to use one motor per truck mounted on top of the bolster driving...

Re: 1" Baldwin-Westinghouse Class D....Sacramento Northern

The body ends are 8" x 10" x .062" aluminum 2024. Just as the sides I held all four together to mill out the windows/door for uniformity. Rivet lines scribed and 96 holes drilled for rivets....x4 ends = 384 holes. The ends were separated and drilled individually. Attached the four end...

Re: 1" Baldwin-Westinghouse Class D....Sacramento Northern

Taking a brake from the trucks so I started the fab for the body sides. I've drawn up blueprints based on pictures I have blown up from a book. Quite the challenge to build something from pictures and a few known dimensions. The body sides are 6.5" x 18" x .062" Aluminum 2024. I first...

Re: 1" Baldwin-Westinghouse Class D....Sacramento Northern

Making progress. Bolsters are 6061. I always use layout dye then scribe my lines using a caliper. Drilled holes first then machined the angle. Next, 1/4" ball end mill then milled out remaining material. Sand blasted to give that "cast" look. Machined a pocket in the bottom of the bol...

Re: 1" Baldwin-Westinghouse Class D....Sacramento Northern

I appreciate that Harold. I was lazy and used a 5C collet stop. There was actually a slight undercut where the wheel will be pressed on so I knurled that area to give me the interference fit rather than scrapping the 1144 axles. I wouldn’t have done that on a steamer. I appreciate the knowledge.
