precision wire bender

Hi: I'm thinking about either purchasing or making a precision wire bender. The nominal diameter of the wire won't be over 3/8". However, the precision must be accurate to within 5 degrees of the spec'd radius either way. If the call-out is 200 degrees radius it has to be within 190-210 Anyone ...

External Thread Cutting of a 6.25" Aluminum tube

Hi All: I'm going to have to cut external threads on a piece of Aluminum Tubing (O.D. 6.25; Wall Thickness .375"). The thread will be 8NPT. The threading of aluminum presents some considerations I know. However, I have never done threading before. I have a Snap-Tap tool holder and the correct i...

Is there a web reference or something that'll show me how to grind a good HSS facing tool? I'm not opposed to doing it, but you rightly assume that I don't know how to.
Let Vance show you. He's the best instructor I've found so far.

Such advice is why I ask and so, pay attention to the responses. If I understand the majority of the comments the way to go is quality collets and a power draw bar.
Who purveys quality collets?

Thanks for your support.

Thanks for the insight. I like the power drawbar idea!

I am concerned that an endmill held in an R8 collet is not as secure as one that uses a set screw.

Is there an R8 shank holder that will use a set screw?

thanks

Quick change tool system for Bridgeport J2 series 1 2hp knee

HI: What kind of quick change tool set should I buy for my BP mill?

Royal is too much money.

Anyone have experience with Tormach's QC sytem?

The spindle has a R8 taper/drawbar.

Thanks

Hi Bill:

Great signature line. I ended up being a farmer with a tractor that wanted to make implements.

As far as getting loaded goes that is a sobering suggestion.

:P

Thanks for the input,

Hi: Thanks for all of the replies. I am a professor and have been dealing with finals so work is progressing steadily but slowly at this time. The height is a concern and I'll address this before I complete the design. There are ways to maintain mobility such that the casters are recessed or removed...

New lathe arrived 2 weeks ago.

Hi All: I now am the proud owner of a Precision Matthews 1340 Lathe. I've provided a few pix of the machine and its current state; A metamorphosis from crated to uncratedness. I'm now in the process of building running gear for my welder. Can anyone help me with designing a mobile leveling base? I h...

Re: Help with a most vexing problem

Hi all: I'm moving forward with my efforts. What I need from someone is a &%$# 2D drawing software program that will let me do what I used to do with my ruler and graph paper. I'd like to have a software that makes the task automated to some extent. For instance: 1. scale the drawing to the sca...
