Re: Simple leather work?

Well, you never know. The industrial heritage look is still in vogue. Clipper lacing would be maybe less for a trouser belt and more for women's corsets!

Re: Simple leather work?

I was thinking of giving it a shot. Reason I was looking for advice is that the last guy I got to adjust some belts was a good cobbler, always great with shoes, but a bit sloppy with the belt work. Bit too rarified it seems! :)

Re: Q: Need some boot purchasing advice

Red Wings are solid. Their main brand is made in USA, and the Irish Setter line (ditto the Vasque work/hiking line, I believe) is import. If you know what you're looking for and have a few styles and your right size in those styles, you might have a shot at getting the factory store in Minnesota to ...

Simple leather work?

Does anybody know someone who's good with leather, could do some fairly straightforward stitching and hardware and finishing? I have all the materials (leather, hardware, thread) for some belts, but I don't have all the leather-cutting/punching/stitching/etc. tools necessary for this task. It's the ...

Mounting aluminum rounds to wood so they can be turned 180º

Hi, everyone. I'm working on a small house project that I could use some help thinking through with someone who has a better imagination for thinking about fasteners in 3D. I'm mounting two small fans upside-down to the top surface of a deep window frame. The fans are attached with 8-32 thumb screws...

Re: How to prepare 6061 before using punch set?

Went back and checked the order and it looks like they shipped 6061-T6511. I'll play around a little and see if I'm doing something exceptionally stupid an re-post here if I figure it out...

Re: Removing Sharpie from matte-finish titanium

Acetone got most of it, and MEK got the ghost. Thanks, Harold!
