Re: Is There Life Outside the Garage?

ML

I have looked for a club, but have not found one....yet. Sweden has a Craigslist type site. I often see both new and used equipment listed on it. Many of the machines are "home sized". There may be hope yet.

I have had better luck finding fishing info!!!

I will keep looking.

Re: Threading away from a shoulder.

Make sure you have enough room left to cut a chamber. It looks like there is very little shank section left.

Re: Is There Life Outside the Garage?

Well you can survive, but not easily. I am 6 months into a 2 year adventure. My family ( wife, and 2 kids and me) are living in Stockholm, Sweden. We got the chance to work over here. It has been great. It is an education in itself. However, I left my house and shop for this. We will move back when ...

Re: Threading away from a shoulder.

Every barrel I have seen has a relief cut up against the shoulder. This will allow everything to seat nice and square. It really is not hard to thread toward the headstock when you have a relief cut. It only gets hard for me when the barrel is octagonal and one of the flats has to be right on top wh...

Re: Hello from North Texas

I am not a regular contributor but I will be the first to welcome you. You and I seem to have some of the same interests. You will soon be making things for your shooting sports. 22 sillywetts sounds fun. My son and I shoot Buffalo gong matches (more popular in this area than NRA sillywetts). I have...

Re: Chuck Stuck on Jet Lathe

Well, I can't view your pic, but I understand what you have done. I can't imagine that it would hurt anything. A quick tap is better than long slow pressure.

Re: Chuck Stuck on Jet Lathe

I can't view your picture (here at work...shhhhh), so forgive me if your picture answers my question. I am assuming this is a threaded spindle. My question is what are you using for leverage on the chuck it self? Sometimes the chuck wrench is not enough. A tool I have seen looks like it would be per...

Re: LOGAN Milling Machine???????

I have not owned a Lagun, nor do I remember where they are from. I think europe. I have been told many times that they are very nice machines. Some models are Bridgeport clones, but better. I may have opened a can of worms, but I am just repeating what I have been told.

SteveS---- Well I guess you just made up my mind. Are you sure about this. I don't deserve a deal like this. PM me and we can get everything squared away.
