Cast iron from propane furnace

I haven't been checking this board much, however see there are needs for broader information. A good casting group is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/castinghobby/ On that group Leon Risenhoover in Luther, OK tells and informs of his advances. His pictures site: http://community.webshots.com/user/lris...

correction

Less teeth per inch for thin things and more teeth for thick things works good. That is reversed, more teeth for thin, fewer teeth for thick. Rule: minimum of three teeth in contact with metal, to avoid overloading the tooth strength. Fewer teeth allows a deeper gullet to store swarf/chip with out ...

Rather than welding or brazing this method has worked for me several times. http://www.chaski.com/cgi-bin/machine_archive/webbbs_config.pl?read=97404 May check to see if they are standard pitch spur gears and can purchase an off the shelf gear and adapt it to a splined hub. Re: Where do I find

I feel your sign in pains. IE and Netscape 4.7 wouldn't keep me signed in. I downloaded Netscape 7.0 and use it to check this board and a few other sites the other browsiers have problems with. If it would handle my bookmarks like 4.7 I would use it exclusively, but it doesn't so I currently use all...

Re: This Old Chuck, Continued

You do understand it is both a universal & independent 4 jaw chuck, depending on which adjustment mechanism you're working with. I had to reduce the picture to get it below the 100k limit, which is easier to read. Let me know if I can be of assistance. May need to drop an email, I don't make it ...

Re: This Old Chuck, Continued

Hello Steve,
I skimmed over your other post and didn't see where you fully or any one else understood the operation of your Westcott chuck. The attachment should explain its operation better.

Re: Boring proceedure

Hello Roy, Why are you worried about cutting the mill screw off? The mill table is pulled or pushed from the left end of the table (the end with double bearings). The right end of the screw floats in a bearing no axial load, only radial forces. And is a slip fit. Is the screw on your mill too large ...
