Anybody recognize these parts?

Clearing out the garage. These probably came from a Los Angeles Live Steamers President's auction. Too cheap to not to pick up, but what are they from? Can any one identify these and what loco? Valve frame/motion plates(?), rear cylinder cover/cross head guides, rocker boxes... 20190716_122828 small...

Re: The Great Model Train Robbery

Points out that locks alone won't save you. Cameras and motion detectors feeding a solid alarm system are what's needed. This took awhile and it looks like they had plenty of time to pull it off. Alarm response would have saved them.

From Johnson Supply website: "DuPont Prep-Sol Cleaning Solvent 3919S - A 6.4 VOC cleaning solvent specifically designed to remove wax, grease, silicone, dirt, tar, insect remnants, road film and pinstripe adhesives from the surface." Looks like you don't want to get it top sides if you have vinyl le...

Re: Rectangular cotter holes

All the locomotive journal boxes of that period that I have seen have rectangular cotter holes (V&T and on the Glenbrook).

Here is the Central Pacific built V&T #18 'Dayton'. Note the lead truck swing links bars...

"Can be picked up in Brentwood CA"

Is that the Brentwood in Los Angeles or the Dublin/Livermore one?

Major material. Looks more like Galvanized than Stainless. Which was used? Either way, beautiful work.

Re: Utah visit

Don't go to Promontory Point to see the Jupiter and 119; you want Promontory Summit. They are about 30 miles apart. The UP (former SP) mainline tracks are at Promontory Point on the Lucin Cutoff.
