Re: CliShay/Big Bertha question

Did you get the engine completed? Did you have an issue with the valve and port face not seeming to match up?

Re: Bertha the Steam Engine

Did you ever finish the bertha steam engine? The valve doesn't match the port face. I thin there is an error in the plan.

Re: Simple, good looking upgrade for your CliShay

Hello, I was curious if you had the castings made? I was thinking about the same idea but was going to use aluminum with a steel tire. I figured a cast iron wheel still needs a tire so why pay the $$$ for cast iron? I would be interested in 8 if the price is right or if it helps you get a better pri...

Hand Pump Drawings and Castings

Hello, I was looking back through the threads for pump info but didn't really get answer. I am looking for a double action hand pump for my Wendy project. I would like to mount it in the cab on the left side looking at the boiler backhead. I also plan on an axle pump (or crosshead pump) and an injec...

Re: Restoring a MEG steam 'Wendy'

Mike, In one of the many posts you have on the Wendy restro you mentioned that steam dome as being not located in a good position. I am close to starting on my boiler and would like to know if you can offer any advise as to changes from the original plan that would make the boiler better for "A...

Re: Restoring a MEG steam 'Wendy'

Mike,
Do you have a picture of the gondola? I was curious as to how one would sit on the gondola and still reach the controls.

I am still working on my Wendy but looking ahead to the tender or another solution.

Thanks for your feedback and jumping back on an old post!

Quick Question....Is the truck allowed to swivel? The one pick looks like welds on the truck side frames the bolster.

Smokebox front - Looking for a casting

Hello,
I am looking for a smokebox casting that will work on a 10" sched 40 pipe smokebox. The loco is a freelance in 2-1/2" - 3" scale running on 7-1/2" track. The less detail the better because is cast-in bolt size, etc. Any ideas?

Thanks!
