If you have the newer tungsten electrodes, have at and grind on what ever you want. But if you happen to have some old stock electrodes, that contain thorium, Do not grind in the open. The thorium containing tungsten is safe to handle, but the grinding dust is a alpha, beta emitter(radioactive).

On most heavy equipment, there are bushing sleeves welded in to the end of the arms. You would have to burn out the old sleeves, then weld in new ones. New pins and sleeves can be had at your dealer.

You might want to think about the SCHERR-TUMICO line of tools. They have very good mics, and other tools, and there made here in the USA.
