Re: Signal Complexity

Sure it is. Most mainline signals are permissive, which definitely makes it within the realm of possibility that two trains could simultaneously be in the same block. The permissive concept is intended to keep trains moving. Blocks signals are not anything like highway traffic signals and don't tel...

Re: Signal Complexity

Larry, I appreciate you catching this oversight. I had no idea colorblindness was as high as 1 in 12! Per the prototype I will ask HR to start mandatory vision testing so we can start screening and removing operators..... :-P Er,... no.... I completely understand where you are coming from. BnO CPL a...

Re: Signal Complexity

Berkman, Sectioning is not allowed with in the same block on the prototype, and should not be done on our models. The only protection from a rear end collision is visual. The only reason re get away with it is because out trains are short and loads are small so we can stop faster. If you really want...

Re: Automatic Signals: How many tracks use them?

Yes I do!!!!
Its real simple.

Route indication, with a very reduced amount of aspects.

Re: CSME Double Tracking Progress

Guys your supposed to be interested in all that good looking track work.....not my technical snafu.... :-)

Yeah, I don't know what's up with the tilt.... Looks ok in the lap top. I have an LG Android. Anyone know how to fix?
Here's some more pictures on the main. From another phone.

Re: Signal Complexity

Thanks for all the input guys. Here's what I have so far. 1) Signals are route signals not speed signals (cause I like Southern Railroad) Single faces on single track, double stacked faces at switches to indicate divergent/convergent path status (switch position + block occupancy). 2) Nothing is fla...

Re: Automatic Signals: How many tracks use them?

The brains in this one is just relays, like the prototype. Granted I am not using polar relays, but a hard wired array to make the signaling decisions. Off the shelf,.... HA! Pictured below is the third go around in the design. I am trying to strike a balance between what is prototypical and what is...

CSME Double Tracking Progress

Once more into the breach! If you have been to Eaglepoint RR in Chattanooga in the last year or so you probably seen the persistent work by members to double track the old main from Eaglepoint to Saddleback. Right now this amounts for about 3/5 of the original main line. All of this effort is two pa...

Re: Automatic Signals: How many tracks use them?

Well,.... I think Absolute Permissive Block is great and am working diligently to add more. At CSME/ Eagle Point we have 1 signal bridge covers the passenger loading platform (on a curve) and both tracks do red/ green to give occupancy. This past weekend I finally got an APB signal head working (yes...

Re: D valves not seating - how do I fix?

Another issue can be too much restriction in the exit porting / blast nozzle. If the passages or blast nozzle is too small, the exiting pressure will push the d slide up breaking the seal on the slide; ie balancing the pressure to the main cylinder on both side. You might try removing the blast ring...
