PM Research Model 5a Steam Engine

PM Research does not have any to sell or copy. If anyone has a copy that they could reproduce for me I will pay for copying and postag...

Re: Building my 1.5" scale Clishay as a beginner

My order from PMR came in after waiting for a few weeks, and I installed a new globe valve and some tubing for my sight glass blowdown. The old brass drain valve leaked water pretty bad. Looking at your boiler pix I have a few questions. 1. For the wood cladding, is it applied directly to the boile...

Re: Welshpool & Llanfair open wagons

Try Blackgates Engineering in the UK http://www.blackgates.co.uk/ Download the catalog. I bought the drawings and wheels to make the slate wagon. The plans had dimensions for 3.5", 5" and 7.25" gauge, large scale as the cars were for narrow gauge railways. Wheel gauging is not a problem just make th...

Re: railroad ties

The Chesapeake & Allegheny Live Steamers in Baltimore http://calslivesteam.org/ made a router table to mill out the slots for tie plates. It uses two routers controlled by a foot switch and a frame that holds 10 ties which are then dragged over the router bits to mill out the slots. I'll try to get ...
