Re: Wendy suspension vs. 'normal' springing.

In reference to the neoprene "suspension" . I could not get hackworth valve gear timed, ch CUF ca CUF until I discovered that the neoprene was greatly compressed allowing a lot of journal box travel. The MEG was built in 1991 and I don't know how many owners it had before me or how many miles it had...

Re: Drawings for MEG Steam "Wendy"....

I have a complete set of 24 drawings at 24 inches X 36 inches each. Not sure what it would cost to have them reproduced. Send me a PM if your interested and I can get a quote.

Nice project Mike. I look forward to your progress reports.
Nice to find a new [to me] source for hardwood. I miss Southern Lumber in San Jose.

Re: New York Central Streamlined Hudson

Hello Jack, Would it be possible to show the solder and flux and possibly provide an online ordering page so we can get the exact copy. Amazon shows a 3/64" dia. 1/2 oz that seems to match your description. Is this the size you are using or have you a source with a more that 1/2 oz of solder. Thank...

Re: building a 3" scale bobber caboose

Glad to see it mounted under the bobber. Actually , the main cylinder and tank parts are pvc fittings from the hardware store with bits and pieces of wood and brass attatched. The whole thing is held together with a length of all thread. A fun little" fit and fiddle" project.

WOW Mike, excellent. To take all my mumblin' and stumblin' and edit it down to this is just terrific. Makes it look like I know what I'm doing. So glad you included Penny in his. She has always been very supportive of my obsession.

Re: New York Central Streamlined Hudson

Hi Jack, I so enjoy following your projects. The big "DUH" moment for me is the use of the dressmakers cloth rule. How many times have I used paper, string, wire, you name it, laid it flat and tried to measure it. A real "why didn't I think of that" moment. I just have to make sure not to leave any ...

The same guy, T2Tom has these angle cocks in 2 1/2" but will re-size them like the glad hands. Not sure if they are working cocks or just decorative. http://www.shapeways.com/product/Y5EACZ ... d=42260582
