Re: Graphiting the smoke box.

I haven't used it on my smokebox, but Dupli-Color is good stuff and is available in a wide variety of colors. I use their self etching primer and semi gloss black on a lot of stuff.

Re: looking for 6" - 7" dia cast spiral back wheels

Hi Mike,

I to have been contemplating a bobber caboose in roughly 3" scale. I thought I would use the plain back 6" wheels from RMI.

Re: Marine boiler ash rake

Looks good Mike.
I find that in addition to raking ash, you can use it as a baffle to regulate air flow to the fire.

But some family matters have come up and I won't be able to attend. Karl suggested I call in sick for...

Marty

I see that you have chosen Mike Massees Chloe as the "pin-up girl" for your new Allen Models in Michigan web site
http://allenmodels.com/.
She is a beautiful lady indeed, and a fine representative of what can be produced from your products.

Re: Restoring a MEG steam 'Wendy'

WOW Mike........Good to see Wendy nearly complete and under steam for the first time. It really looks nice. Typical of all of the fine work that you and your dad turn out. I'm sorry I can't make it to Train Mountain to see it preform. Any chance you will swing by Bitter Creek for the 4th of July mee...
