The general rule is: to change the rotation of a 220 volt reversible AC motor is to swap the connections of any two of the three leads going to the motor. Very nice work. Something I've been thinking of making for a while now.
3 x 80 doesn't sound like a common belt size, are you gong to make your own?
Would sure like to see a closeup of the tension / tracking end.

My lathe came with a chuck guard. Gave it an honest try, was always in the way and didn't stop coolant spray. It finally ended up in the recycle pile.

Allen Not sure what you mean by extending the mill. Do you mean the length of the table to use an indexing head and center at the other end? If so you might be able to use a piece of channel iron to extend the dead center end off the table. I build shafts up with the mig to repair wear or where a be...

Could you build up the shaft with weld where the spline is stripped, then machine the spline.
