Re: Firebox Arch?

Hello Tristan, Good idea to add in a firebox arch to improve combustion! Position looks right but please shorten the arch to about 5" (horizontal) versus 4" (vertical) distance from the firebox back- versus crown sheet. Re: Coffin Feedwater Heater

Hello Jack,
Perhaps some more information excerpt from cyclopedias 1941 and 1947 may help a bit?
A more informative scetch is to bee seen of the Elesco turbine may be seen in the 1941 issue, page 402. I will look for some more.
Best regards

Re: My N&W class A 1239 (gauge 5", 1 in 10 scale)

Hello Andy, Nothing but my highest respect for all those people who engage in repairing and maintaining those historic steam locomotives - and make them steaming again! When reading that glorious book 'The Mohawk That Refused to Abdicate' some 30 years ago, I was impressed by the chapter about the N...

Hello Chris,
Same laser cut parts as used with my A, different method of making! Here's the missing photo, showing the raw parts.
Much bending and a lot of precise TIG-welding, so many hours of work, yet  !
Carry on!

Hello Greg, Thank you for sharing your detailed photos from the cab! Some 20 years ago I enjoyed a similar trip withe Roring Camp & Big Trees RR, can understand your feelings so well! That rapid tripple stack sound is quite similar to those of 3-cylinder paasenger engines at speed (if you close your...

Re: Alcohol Burner

Hello H&NERY,

Please think of using this type of burner with an adjustable nozzle. It*s sucking  and atomizing liquid fuel like diesel, petroleum and any sort of alcohol, too.
Maybe the burner introduced by Eccentric E. could be used, too!
Good luck!
