Live steam in Arkansas, pics

Hey, Figured I'd prove that I got a bit of steam time while I was home in Arkansas. The following pics are from a private track near Hot Springs Arkansas. My host that Saturday was very gratious and happy that I came by. So happy in fact that the section of track that is in this pic did not exist ju...

Thanks for the Input

All, Thank you for your thoughts. I read through each one and decided it was worth the risk to unscrew the valve and take a look at the valve stem. Well, y'all are right, they are not needle valves. As best as I can describe it the valve looks like one of the damage control plugs we have aboard ship...

Steam needle valve problem

Howdee Y'all, Ok first off, i've not gotten to have the time to actually look into this problem. I just wanted to get a few off the cuff suggestions before I take the valve in question off the loco and sidline it for possibly months. Right, here is the problem. Seems that the needle valve controling...

Re: Hurricane and Live Steamers and MSLS Meet

Thanks Unka J, I'll keep it on my calendar and once I figure out what good ol' Unka Sam wants to do with po little ol' me I have an Idea if I can make it. It would seem that miss Katrina has set back the ship building program for a few months. I might even have to take orders to another ship if it g...

Re: Hurricane and Live Steamers and MSLS Meet

I know the effect it's having on me. The shipyard where they were building my nice new ship of the line was heavely damaged, and so was the ship. So bad in fact that Uncle Sam has ordered me back to San Diego untill further notice. So I'll miss this meet. That's the sad part. The good part was that ...

Re: Mid-South Fall Meet / Registration

Well, it's looking better for me to make the meet. Who should I contact about registration? And how? I'm brining the 2-6-0 and possibly a lil bobber caboose. Also, does anyone have a gondola or a riding car I could borrow? My Folks are gonna try and come to the meet as well, and I'd like to give the...

Re: My new Steamer / CVLS track

Hi Bill, Thanks! The CVLS expansion is open to club members for the moment. We still have a bit of tweeking to do before we open it to general public haulage. But most of us, with the exception of my new engine, have polished the rails down the expansion a few times. We are hoping to have it ready i...
