Re: 80% .223

Look around there are a few places you can buy 80% lowers cheaper then brownells
I got mine threw tactical arms , very good quality and unanodized blems are only $29
If you keep watch and snag them when available .
If you watch they also put non blemmed lowers on sale for $32 quite often

Re: Self centering vise

let's not get carried away and say anything I do is practical , more often then not it isn't . Anyhoo ... one thing I can say about grizzly is that they don't waste anytime shipping . Order on Sunday and it's here on Thursday . First impressions. .. it looks fairly well made , for what it cost . Fit...

Re: Drum switch to motor (HELP)

I have a question , is it at all possible to make a three pole drum switch work with a three phase motor or does it have to be a four pole switch

Re: Miller three phase welder questions

Borrowed some leads and a stinger , it seems to stick weld pretty good .
I stuck a 1/8 inch 7018 in it and cranked the power a the way up .
And didn't have any issues so my generator is plenty big enough .

I think it'll be a great addition to my shop once I have all the paraphernalia :)

Re: Miller three phase welder questions

When I had it opened up I was going to take a couple pictures of what I had to swap around to wire it for 240v But I didn't want to confuse anyone who might not have caught that it is a three phase welder . That and it was absolutely filled full of dust and something that is similar to dryer lint .

Re: Miller three phase welder questions

Ok so .. re-wired for 240v and turned it on . Powers up just fine , and while I can't hear the "sizzle " over the cooling fan I can see a spark jump the gap on the " points " so I feel pretty safe in assuming high frequency works just fine . I think I'll go borrow a stinger and ground from my brothe...

Re: Miller three phase welder questions

I can do that ... and yes it has a switch for high frequency and the remote plugs .
I can wire it up for power easy enough and that brings up my next question .
The tag on the welder says it's dual voltage .. 240 / 480.
Would it be wired differently internally for 240 or 480?

Re: Miller three phase welder questions

Did you get a foot pedal with it? I had to laugh , no offense meant :) But no there's no foot pedal. the fellow I got it from bought it explicitly for the foot pedal and all that paraphernalia, to be truthful I doubt I get that fancy with things if everything is kosher with the welder . I'll use it...

Re: Miller three phase welder questions

Oh if it was only that simple ... $20 doesn't buy a torch or leads or anything except the Welder itself . Sending power to the welder isn't an issue , I have plenty of wire for that . I'd just like to be sure everything is working before I start buying a torch , leads , gas bottle ..etc etc etc . I ...

Re: PM1236 arrived

Sweet... a new lathe . I hope it eats up hours and hours of your time and empties your wallet , much like mine does :) Really though , the pm lathes do look very nice and the guys that own them always seem very happy , congrats . As to the oil leak , do a simple Google search for 12x36 metal lathe ,...
