Mill Creek Central Fall Blowdown

Mill Creek Central is having their Fall Blowdown this week, October 13 - 16. Weather looks to be pretty good for Ohio this time of year, forecast showing high temperatures in the 60's and 70's throughout the period. http://www.millcreekcentral.com

Keith, You are correct, this coal is not anthracite coal. The only place in the US where this is mined is Pennsylvania. The value of the bituminous mid-vol met is that it will retain its flame and is still very hot, low in ash and sulfur. You don't have to blend in a lower quality utility coal with ...

I have a supplier out of southern West Virginia (just off interstate 64 near White Sulfur Springs) where I buy a mid-vol metallurgical coal that is very similar to Pocahontas coal it's Sewell seam) it's very hot and won't smoke you out. I'm very much new at this but wouldn't you risk damaging (overheating) the superheater if you placed the throttle upstream of the superheater? If you closed the throttle would there be enough steam remaining in the superheater to keep it at a reasonable temperature? Just courious.
