Re: Bitter Creek Western July 4 2013 meet photos

This was the first visit for Andy and I. We had a great time. Bitter Creek Western is a gorgeous venue to say the least. Karl is a super nice guy. Many thanks to him for hosting us. And thanks to Mike for the nice pics.

Re: It's too hot

Story on the news here in Las Vegas of a guy cooking prime rib in his car.

But it's a dry heat.

Re: Kozo Hiraoka K-27 engine

Kozo's books taught me a lot about machine work, fabrication and silver soldering. Everything he demonstrates works in the Gauge 1 scale I do. It's good to see him back. Just renewed LS subscription. Looking forward to the series.

Re: Nevada Southern Railway Live Steamers

Looking forward to seeing you Mike. Looks like it will be real busy again this weekend. Heard the Nevada Southern is sold out. Dan Markoff's E&P 3 footer is running like a champ.

Drive safe.

Jason: Here's a photo of that kind of jig. You need a little spacer on the center pin since the jig can't sit flat.

Under no circumstances get a mill drill with a round column. You will not like it.

Re: Looking for an article from Model Engineer

Thanks for looking "hwboivin3" I built a somewhat modified Chingford Express a few years ago from the MAP plans. It's a superb running Ga 1 loco. Thinking about building 100% stock LBSC version and having the ME article on hand to complete the file.

Thanks again.

Looking for an article from Model Engineer

LSBC designed a Gauge 1 locomotive named "Chingford Express", a little GER 0-6-0T. I believe he wrote a construction article/series in ME during 1944. Does anyone have this? I request a copy for personal use and will make good on copying/postal fees.

Thanks, Bob

It's 1:5 scale the Northern Pacific Water Tank at Kanaskat, Washington. Plans came from a Gauge 1 source.
