Re: Suspension problems

You need to adjust the height of the lead truck to get more weight on the drivers. You should be able to pick up a lead wheel about 3/16" with out lifting the engine. It only needs enough weight for it to stay on the track.

Please put up some pictures.

Re: Suspension problems

Bruce Raykiewicz had to adjust the lead and trailing truck loads on his Little Engines 1.5 scale Atlantic to get it to pull.

Re: Wanted 5C Collets

A new 0.164" 5C collet from Hardinge is $60. But the shipping and handing is more than that. The 9/64" collet is working for me to trim the #8 bolt head to size.

Re: Wanted 5C Collets

Just buy the following collects - 11/64 - 9/64 - 3mm - pretty simple these are within a few thou of what you require and will pull down to the size you want quite easy . A 5C collet can pull down quite a way from the stated measurement . According to Hass a 5C collet is good to 1/64" smaller than t...

Re: Soluble Coolant Oil

Thanks all of the information. I purchased a new Graymills 3 gallon sump off of eBay cheap. I hope it is large enough for my Rockwell 14" lathe. The 1144 cuts great without oil using Iscar PP series carbide cuts. But I think the 4041 would benefit from the coolant. I take deep enough cuts that the m...

Re: Soluble Coolant Oil

I've been using Castrol Hysol MB-50 for years without any of the issues mentioned in this thread. A lot seem to end up buying the cheapest coolant they can find, which is understandable for a home shop, and then find out that it's cheap for a reason. I wish I could purchase it in a 1 gallon bottle ...

Re: Soluble Coolant Oil

Thanks Russ. I will take a look at Rustlick 5050. One thing I see it is available in a one gallon bottle. I have been looking at semi synthetic fluids due to the fact that they are less prone to smelling. Smallest is a 5 gallon pail. I have seen Castrol Hysol MB 50 mentioned. It will work with all t...
