Re: Bobber Caboose

Wow Jim. That's nice. I am really impressed with the resurrection of the Ottaway. It did look like scrap but that diamond in the rough came out really nice. Congrats!

And to Fred, the caboose is 1-1/2" scale not 3/4". A deadbolt lock would really be something in 3/4" scale! Jack

Re: Bobber Caboose

Now that's it! Who would have thought that the day would come when you would have to deadbolt your 3/4" caboose! What's next? 3/4" robbers on horseback :-)

Re: Cab light fixtures

I think these are the same bulb I used at one point in the cab of my Atlantic. They were good except for one drawback and that was they seemed to burn out due to vibration. I even tried running them at half voltage but still seemed to burn out fast. I just kept a good supply handy.

Geez Jack... Is there a limit to your talents? Are you going to make a scale coffee grinder as well :-) Now here is some little baloney. Stuff like this is just too much fun. You can learn a lot on the internet, things like how to do diamond tuck upholstery, and yes, how to make a broom. As a good m...

The roaring you hear in the background is a shop heater. I was going to comment about that.... glad I went back and re-read your message before I stuck the other foot in.... I used to fire up my propane fired atlantic cold without a blower for quite a while until I got me a compressor. I am sure it...

Only thing I see wrong with these pics is there's no track with a snow plow :-) But it sure looks great. We either get rain, sleet, or hail..... never the snow.... Fred Merry Chirstmas to everyone. Our first White Christmas since I have lived here in Northern Alabama DSC_0162.jpg DSC_0160.jpg

And here it is. I'm going to keep it around to look at for a few days and then send it off to Brad for investment casting. They will be available although I don't know what the cost will be yet. See you in the funny pages.. Jack I want one just to have it. Nothing to put in except on the shelf :-) ...
