Re: Lubricators in 3/4 scale

Sooooo, if a guy was clever, he could maybe build it into the sand dome and use the sand lines as plumbing on a small locomotive? Or...maybe that is too much work for too little reward. It is funny you say that, I am using my sand dome for the feed my mechanical lubricator. But im not sure it will ...

Re: Lubricators in 3/4 scale

I would not even try to plumb one hydro lubricator to two cylinders, Unless it is BEFORE the tee If you plumb at the valve chest then use two lubricators I don’t even like using one mechanical lubricator with two outputs, because you can’t tell if both are working correctly. Many may agree with me, ...

Re: Lubricators in 3/4 scale

The hydrostatic lubricators do not need to be in the main steam line,
You can have one lubricator on each cylinder plumbed at the top of the valve chest

Re: reach rod on a stephenson valve

You know Jesse, You may recall I had a heck of a time with the timing on my Allen American, and I believe one of the problems was getting this rod set correctly. She is still not 100% square. But I will handle that at a later time. when i pull her apart in a year. [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/confused...

Re: Anodes or not, Boiler treatment or not

Karl and All, I have two magnesium anodes in my boiler, It has about 40 hours under steam as I was testing and timing the engine (and having a little run ). And the anodes are a now a shade of white and look to be "wearing" very nicely. I believe the...
