1 1/4 steel balls

Hey, anyone know a source for 1 1/4 mild steel or something soft enough I can drill and tap with hi speed bit and tap?I checked ebay and searched web with no luck.

I have some carbide I got with some stuff I bought,I would like to make some tool bits,I can weld and braze but have not silver soldered any carbide,would like to hear how and what flux to use from someone who has

its sure not top qualty and I don't see alot of copper its on my friends lathe ,guess we'll see how it last's

I bought this used mill a while back and it has dro ,don't have any paperwork on dro,it works and I use it to zero and then move ever how many thousandth,today I was wondering what all it would help me do if I knew how to use the other features?
