Re: NYC L2-c #2800 Mohawk in 1 1/2 inch scale.

Bob lives in Erie Pa. His engine was a NYC H10 Mikado. He had a small railroad around his home. It was just a small loop because he didn't have much space and his engine could handle the sharp 21 foot radius curve in the back of the house. It was pretty impressive. Last my father heard, Bob had dona...

Re: 1" scale commonwealth tender trucks

The reason I ask is because I recently picked up a set of frames off of ebay. I have the wheel sets and journal boxes but would like to see how the swing bolster was set up.

They are beautiful trucks and I know they are going to look good under my pacific tender.

Thanks for the info!

1" scale commonwealth tender trucks

Has anyone built a set of the 1" commonwealth tender trucks offered by 1" scale railroad supply? If so does anyone have a detail pictures to post? Are there drawings available w/out buying the casting set? Anything would be helpful

Thanks

1" 0-4-0 spring question

I am in the process of refurbishing a little engines 1" scale 0-4-0 tanker. I took it all apart for re-painting. I am starting to put it back together and am having an issue with the spring rigging. It seems like the springs are really stiff. They hardly move when I push down on the frame. Is i...

Ben, What size sprockets (# of teeth) are you using? It looks like the motors you have are from an electric scooter which are similar to the one I plan on using on my 1" scale electric. I am trying to figure out the number of teeth I should use. The motor I plan on using comes with a sprocket t...

Here is a picture of the progress on my little 1" scale electric. I'v got the frames shaped and cut to length, the journal boxes are started and I have the wheels. This is a fun project and I hope that I get it done in a month or so.

Tommy, Thanks for the dimensions and the photos. I found a web site that has a 350w motor, speed control, throttle handle combo for about $75 so I think I may go with that set up. I am also using a bunch of spare parts that are around my basement. Is your LE 4-4-2 also in 1" scale? I am buildin...

Tommy

Would you happen to have any pictures of your 1" switcher? or even some basic dimensions? I have been making a bunch of drawings for the little switcher but it would be nice to have something to reference.

Thanks

Building a 1" scale industrial switcher

I am considering building a small industrial switcher in 1" scale. It will be similar to the little switchers from Riding Railkits and Maxitrax. My goal is to have it be simple and easy to build. I have got the wheels and journal boxes done. I am planning on using the drive train from an electr...
