Actually every steam engine will give you a bath until the pipes and cylinders warm up. Only takes a few seconds.

Foaming is likely the result of oil in the boiler. If this is a new boiler it will clear up after a couple of fire ups.

Are you sure the thread is 5 tpi and not 4 1/2 ?
BTW you can buy an 1 1/4-12 nut and weld it to a steel disk to make your own backing plate.

For the injector make any bends with a tubing bender, try not to use fittings. The less restrictions the better. You can see the injector piping here. BTW you can see my blow down coming out the side with a hose connector on it. I use the blowdown as the fill valve when the engine is cold. For the b...

Actually it is basic math but maybe it would be much less work than scaling hundreds of parts if there are a set of drawings already done.
