Re: Sched 40 pipe

Just bought a powerball ticket for 100M + jackpot, if it's awinner consider it a done deal. Seriously if I could afford it now we probably would but i'm pretty sure the housing is way way to expensive these days. Modesto's a great place that's not more than couple of hours from everything. (except N...

Re: Sched 40 pipe

Curtis, I used to live in Modesto over on Chikaree lane. There Was a house just outside the neighborhood that had a railroad. Never saw anything running on the tracks but the wife said she drove by one day and did see the train running. (darn the torped oops overtime.)

Sched 40 pipe

Just bought a 4 ft section of schedule 40 pipe. It's only .096 wall thicknes seems alitle thin when compared to Bob Reedy's boiler plans. me thinks the GREENHORN just had a twelve dollar lesson in the school of hard knocks. Looks like the proper thickness is about .560. Guess I'll use achunk to buil...

re: OT moles

Diazanon from the garden center or coop. Works ok and it also helps with bugs ticks and other ground based pesks.

Re: For those wanting Climax gears....

I don't think we have any mole protection laws here in Oklahoma. My moles are smarter than me. They seem able to avoid my trap like the plague.

Re: Climax Loco Wheel Spokes

Just checked article 1 of Bob Reedy's climax and the full size he scaled down appears to be 9 spokes (photo 3) but the phot0 is shot from an angle and its not all of the wheel is visible. Wheels turned from plate are probably cheaper but would need more machine work.

Three truck climax

Hello. My name is Dennis Covey. I was wandering if anyone is building or thinking of building the climax per Bob Reedy's plans in Live Steam Magazine. I bought a Craftsman 12x24 lathe last January and have used it to make some of the brass parts for the smokebox. IE pn 137 137a 138 etc. I was lookin...
