Re: WTB Miniature Locomotive Magazines
It sounds to me like he is looking for copies of The Miniatiure Locomotive magazine that was published by Dick Bagley back in the early 1950’s. They are a treasure trove of great information. Keith Keith, What was the last issue of the Miniature Locomotive, or how many issues total? I have some, bu...

Re: Main crank pin on different axle then Eccentric on
I believe the JW Bowker at CRSM has this arrangement also. Not necessarily optimal, but practical.

Short u tube worth watching
All, I came across a u tube by accident that I have enjoyed watching. It is short, just over a minute, but is interesting footage of a SP 2-8-2 getting started. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-WwXFTCiiE There are a couple of things happening here that I found rather interesting. First is that ther...

Looking for prints for the "Doc Fixit" loco
All,
I'm looking for prints for the 1" scale SP 4-4-2 that were sold by "Doc Fixit" in the late 40's. I don't think I have run across more than half a dozen of these locos that were built, but thought I would ask the depth of knowledge that is on this board.
Thanks,
Doug

Loco identification?
Hi all,
A friend of mine sent me an image of a 1/2" scale Hudson he picked up, of which I have attached an image. I think the loco is built from the LE Miller design. Can any one confirm that? I have never run across an engine of the Miller design before.
Thanks,
Doug

Re: Another Ng Climax casting pattern
Dave,
The pattern is actually injected wax that is of a purple colour.
I could have added dimples to start the drill in, but considering that I only need 4 of these with a total of 12 holes, I didn't bother. I have added dimples on parts before where location was not critical.

Doug

Glenn,
I have not heard back from the foundry yet on these castings. I have not forgotten you! They are investment castings, btw, and not sand cast.

Re: Small Diesel engines for motive power
Glen, If you are looking for a small diesel, I would recommend either a small Japanese engine, or one from Western Europe. Both regions have produce decent small engines. The air cooled engines are louder than the water cooled ones, but of course don't need room for the radiator, either. If you are ...

Re: Another Ng Climax casting pattern
Glenn,
How many are you looking for? I have not ordered any yet, and don't have a price from the foundry. I am having these investment cast in steel, btw.
John,
Thanks for the kudos!

Another Ng Climax casting pattern
Hi all, We had some hot weather last week that was too hot to do anything outside, so I spent my spare time inside working on another pattern. This is the poling pocket for a 2.5" scale Class A Climax. I'm building my trucks to 7.5" gauge, but Climax built Class A locos from track gauges o...
