Re: Grip Strength
I believe the main purpose for the grip test is to see if us single guys have a better grip than the married ones.

Re: Tool Grinder Wheels
Thanks JS, The top three are the 6A2C designation. Are there any additional markings as to ... D(diamond)D6A2C, or, CBN6A2c, and any other nomenclature printed pertaining to concentration, and/or grit size? Appreciate your help. Toolroom postscript...6A2C relates to 6" diameter, A is bond...I b...

Tool Grinder Wheels
I just purchased a Tool Grinder and luckily it came with a Norton Diamond wheel for carbide grinding. I went looking for a CBN/Borozon wheel for the opposite side for HSS, and find that most all the 6A2C wheels from China (must be trued and balanced), prior to use. This would be an additional $50.-7...

Ah, the key word...Friend! Wish I had one. Send me yours when he's finished, I'm just south of you in Oregon. I've been following your other threads on your "machines," and all the tooling you've been able to create. You are a real machinist in the making. Next you'll find your SHOP is too...

Re: Panhead rebuild project...
Patio,
I've been following along sporadically, and like the work you've performed. Kinda wish there were more pics of the progress...BUT, I would like to know how you've timed the engine by yourself. I can't seem to get mine right on the spot "myself".

Re: Real Machinists
Ah, Gentlemen, thy sell thyselves short! I must explain myself further. I will say that there are some truly remarkable machinists in the world that are worthy of their keep, but there are by far too many who perform the mundane... day to day, work, machining the same materials in a production envir...

Real Machinists
It appears that I rarely have something to say in this forum, as my thirty year tenure in the Machinists trade has led me everywhere else but into steam transportation. I've worked in many shops, both clean and rank, worked with many individuals, of all different mentalities (shop shoes too), and no...

Re: Who is your supplier?
In Oregon, I have learned to trust Travers. I have never ever had any issues with Travers, and I think the kicker is... They treat me like I was Boeing, instead of a deadbeat hobbyist! Of all the orders I have had shipped, none came in late, and the packaging was exemplary!
For what its worth.

Re: MSC killing off ENCO
I agree with Shootnride, I have never ever had a problem with either quality or customer service when using Travers. Always on time, AND the pricing is very reasonable.
