Re: Temporary Trailer-Engine haul
Why not off-load the 4-6-4 or 4-8-4 into the rented trailer for a day or two and use the trailer set-up for train hauling to make the pick-up?

Re: Dimension Engineering controller question
You might try their website. I found and downloaded lots of info from there when I had a question about the controller in my box cab.

Re: Engine stand
I went with the HF motorcyle lift idea too. I welded up a frame of 1.5" x 1/8 angle and got 4 swivel casters on ebay for about $50 delivered. I put two pieces of c-channel face up across the inside of the frame and the lift wheels sit in that channel. To move my loco I put a 6' track panel on t...

Re: Gunderson well car
I'll be watching this with interest. I was just getting into the thinking about planning to build stage on a well car. The prototype I'm using for inspiration is the Greenbrier AP53. Some overall dimensions are on they're website. https://www.gbrx.com/manufacturing/north-america-rail/double-stack-ca...

Re: In hopes of a build log, one day...
The funny thing is that I'm actually trying to get and stay uncluttered and organized. That's why I put the pegboard up a while back. I just haven't gotten used to looking for stuff in the new places yet. I do appreciate the ideas I've read from others. I'm still in the position of having too much s...

Re: In hopes of a build log, one day...
Well, I'm happy that a few of you enjoyed the humor of my situation. I had a better day today. No work at least. I just couldn't bring myself to buy another grinder, as easy as that would have been, I would have seen it as a failure. So I made another loop around the garage looking for the pin wrenc...

In hopes of a build log, one day...
Sorry, I just feel the need to vent and hope some of you find humor or a sense of camaraderie in this post. I've often considered starting a build log for one or two of the several projects that I'm working on, but I haven't because I think that I already spend too much time on the computer instead ...

Re: RR Coupler for Trailer hitch?
FYI... I got one a few years ago as a gift. It's really cute & funny the first few times you walk back to the truck in a parking lot and see it back there. Not so funny the few times you don't see it and walk around the back of the truck a little too closely.

Re: 1.5" Scale Ride Astride Passenger Car Kits
I'm considering ordering one or two of these cars but have a few questions. You mention no welding. Does that mean that there is some type of bolster plate included/built into the kit? Can you post a picture of the bottom of car showing how/where the trucks attach? I like using Tom Bee trucks. Will ...
