Re: Possible uses for Tile Saw?

That sounds like a thread/sub-forum is needed on repurposing tools. I have a 10" chop saw that a former friend and contractor abandon during construction of my shop(he took off with the last payment, but well before the job was finished). Also just purchased a HF chain saw sharpener that I will...

Re: Need an HF Coupon

Thanks, Ken. I got a 20% coupon from Valpak.com, printed it out, and got an HF chainsaw sharpener. Got a tree down in the front yard. Setup was quick and easy. Sharpened 5 chains from 8" to 16 in in about 45 minutes. Chains are as good as new. Actually don't remember them cutting this good when...

Need an HF Coupon

Have to go to Harbor Freight today. No coupons on hand. Anyone have a link to a 20-25% printable in store coupon? I can’t seem to find one.

Re: DC conversion on lathe.

I'd say 1.25 HP should be fine. Go for it. I have a treadmill motor and controller on my mini mill. Had one on my 7x lathe while it's controller was being repaired.

Re: Left hand thread cutting?

A 3-in-one machine can't reverse the lead screw separately from reversing the chuck rotation?

Re: Advice on Making Fan/Pulley for Treadmill Motor

I had a 12vdc auto accessory fan that I bought years ago to use in an old pickup that didn't have a working fan. I pulled the plastic fan blade off that and made an adaptor to fit the armature shaft. The treadmill motor that I used on my mill has about 1/2" of the armature shaft sticking out of...

Re: Help me Comprehend my MC-60 Controller

I got the flywheels off like Dickybird described. Some of the treadmill motors Ive collected have shafts that stick out of the bell on the other end from the flywheel end. I have used vice grips on those types, with a piece of soda can to protect the armature and followed Dickybirds method to apply ...

Re: Help me Comprehend my MC-60 Controller

Steve, The pulley is threaded onto the motor shaft. It is LEFT hand thread. Be careful trying to get it off. I had a buddy that wanted the flywheel to make a large pulley and he twisted the armature in half before I could stop him trying to unscrew it. I have gotten all the flywheels off my treadmil...

Re: Help me Comprehend my MC-60 Controller

I used my 4x6 bandsaw to remove the hub part of a flywheel like you are talking about. It has the LEFT hand threads to screw onto the motor. I turned a v grove in that part and put it back. My X2 came with a belt drive. I did have to make taller spacers to get the motor to line up with the spindle p...

Re: Help me Comprehend my MC-60 Controller

I found one picture of my MC-60 setup. The motor leads are at the top, pot leads at the bottom. I will get a better picture in a bit.

Chuck

Edit: I guess the pic was too big, won't appear. I'll get some better ones and post them somewhere.

Re: Help me Comprehend my MC-60 Controller

Steve, yes you want a linear 5K pot. You only need the board marked MC-60 The incline power supply is not needed. I will take a picture of my setup for you. I had taken some, but darned if I can find them... There are 2 spade connections on the board for AC input, 2 for the motor out, and 3 for the ...
