Value of engines

You might look on e-bay for similar stuff and see what it sold for. I have seen similar models mostly coming from England. Should give you a good starting point. Do you plan to sell them? You can always post them for sale on this site. I am sure many members like myself may be interested.

Drawbar/coupler

I posted the original thread.
Thanks for the info. I actually found one from a vendor at the last Orange County Model Engineers meet. Thanks again,

Linkage Operated Cylinder Drain Cocks

I was kind of looking to buy some ready made as I don't have the facilities to make them at this time. Hopefully soon. Anyway, I saw some on e-bay from England I think, but wanted to see if I could find them here in the states.

Linkage Operated Cylinder Drain Cocks

Does anyone know where I can buy some cylinder drain cocks that have the handles on them set up for linkage to open and close them. I believe Power Models used to sell them when they were still around.
Thanks,

Clarification

I may not have been clear in my first post. I want to exchange the hydrostatic lubricator on my engine and really didn’t want to have to remake the steam pipes running to the cylinders. The current lubricator is a P. M. Research model with a straight 1/4-40 thread. I want to switch to one with the c...

Model Taper Pipe Threads vs Straight Threads

If something is threaded with straight threads, can a model taper pipe fitting be screwed into that hole and seal? If I had a MTP tap, could I chase out the tread and make it work?

Thanks :?:

Mechanical Lubricator vs Displacement Lubricator

I have seen several different vendors that sell mechanical lubricators. Some list "clutch bearings", others have a rachet. What type works best? I have a Clishay which has a small two cylinder engine. Currently is has a displacement lubricator on it, but I was thinking of changing to somet...

Re: Coupler Question

I have found two places that sell it.
One is aluminum and the other is cast iron.
I wonder which would be better?
Alum is lighter, but iron is stronger.
I have to modify one end to fit my Clyshay link and pin coupler.

Best way to put in rivets?

I am going to be building a car and need to add rivet detail. What is the best way to drive rivets? With the hand powered squeezer? Or one of the air powered gun types? I have to be able to do this alone if I can so any suggestions would be great.
Thanks,
Bill

Coupler Question

Need help.
Saw a coupler somewhere that was a solid piece, but looked like two knuckle couplers together.
Can't remember who sells it.
Anyone know?
Thanks,
Bill

Cleaning safety valves

The safety valves on the engine I bought stick a bit. The engine sat for a bit before I bought it and I wondered if the safety valves have a little junk built up in them. If I tap them, they both go off with no problrm. The valves are the Bagley type sold by Coles. Can I soak them in something to cl...
