Here are a couple of shots. I didn't crop out the lab bench drawer units the lites are sitting on because they will be for sale also.
hammermill, you are probably right on. I did list them all for $240. on craigslist about an hour ago. We'll see.

Price check on 4' Flor. Shop Lites
Hi fellows I have a few items to sell (understatement for sure) and hope I can get some help on fair pricing for them in this sub category. I know some of you have good info on what items will sell for. I think many items I have for sale will almost have to be for local sales as shipping cost will m...

Re: Steve's Shop Photo
Thank you. Off the cuff I would have answered 8'-6" floor to ceiling but the more I thought about it I decided to go out and actually measure it. Turns out it's 8'-3" plus a bit.

Re: I found some plastic like material
Looks like a METHOCEL product, perhaps as a binder for casting but that is only my guess. See if these properties for METHOCEL fit what you have.

Re: Opinions needed! VFD, what brand and where to buy?
I assume that I would need to get my own potentiometer and mounting, or do you guys just use the up down buttons for control? I would like to be able to connect both the lathe and mill to the output someday, and have interlocked controls, at both machines, when that day comes. The pot is much more ...

Re: lawn tractor (cheap) design
I have looked at newer garden tractors many times but fail to see any improvement over the mid 70's Sears Suburbans built by Roper that I continue to use. (unless you place HIGH value on a cup holder). None of the Sears tractors available today come close to the capability of these older Suburbans w...

In cse you don't already know this eBay auction can give you an idea of cost and availability of the B&S #9 collets. Not actually made by B&S but much less than the B&S labeled collets. http://www.ebay.com/itm/No-9-B-S-Taper-Brown-Sharpe-Taper-Collet-11pc-Set-NEW-/230800302503?pt=BI_Tool...

Re: Which VFD ?
This isn't a recommendation but rather 'food for thought'. I've been watching this 3hp and the 2hp by the same seller for some time wondering if it is a good unit. The $120 price is certainly tempting for a 10 amp. vfd. http://www.ebay.com/itm/220961344477?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984....

Harold, I’m sorry for your disappointment. Yes it feels good to come away from a day in the shop without injury to a machine and/or pride taking a hit ... but ... I can really get excited if I haven't lost a drop of blood or broken anything connected to my body. At 69 and in rather poor health my da...

Re: home heating oil tank move
I wouldn't apply a vacuum to one of these tanks, it's not designed to handle it. My first thought was maybe 3 hydraulic car jacks. Two to support a cradle under one end and the third to make the tail end portable but after considering the age of the tank I think the NEW tank option is a good choice....

Re: Rusty tools
I use white vinegar (50:50) some to clean off rust on small parts but electrolysis for bigger stuff especially where I think it is important to save original size/integrity as much as possible. Electrolysis is supposed to remove rust but leave the base metal in-tack. A search of 'rust removal by ele...
