After he gets used to it, he will find that a wider trigger will give him better trigger control.

Made by FN? Does that mean that it is a Browning? If it is, he ought to have no trouble in finding a replacement trigger assembly on line. Has he been able to furnish you with any photos yet??

I have not built one----YET, but I'm in the process of making parts and obtaining checks, valves, etc. The old prints I used called for Copper rivets every 1/2 inch and then Silver Soldered. This I intend to do, besides, a neat row of rivets looks sharp, IMHO.

His name was Hecker Martin, and I read about him in Ned Robert's book: "The Muzzleloading Caplock Rifle". Sadly, I am afraid it is out of print now, unless it has been reprinted.
