Re: Using Granite Countertop as surface plate????

Use it for lapping or layout or what ever suits you, just don't think of it as a surface plate, it's not.

Conrad, are you quoting some other thread, or did Harold mess up and answer you in your own post?

Re: metric inch stubbornness?

I think the U.S. officially adopted the Metric system in 1866, if it has not caught on by now, I just don't see much hope for it.

Re: Need help with RPC build.....

TheTester, If you don't want to fool with relays or timers as you originally stated, I think the centrifugal switch would be right down your alley. I posted a link on page 1, but you never responded, maybe you missed it.

Re: Never enough time

Dave, have you got any horned owls in your area, are they taking the bird completely, or eating it on site?

Re: Clear out unread Posts?

Harold, I am using subsilver2 and I have the mark post read, at the top right of the forum. I clicked it out of curiosity, and now if I hover over the icon at the left end of the post title it reads no unread posts.

Re: Chambering Tool

Bob, you have a terrible in and out background buzz in your audio, I got out before you actually got to the point of doing any machining as it was really getting on my nerves.

Don, the Practical Machinist site has a pretty active South Bend sub forum, have you looked at it?

Re: Never enough time

Dave seeing how it came out cured, was there any chunks of dried mud on the rims that might have got knocked off during the R&R? That can sure cause that symptom.
